CrossFit 864
Where results are earned.

Today's schedule: 5:15a.m./9:00a.m./4:15p.m./5:15p.m./6:15p.m.

Better to be poor and honest than to be dishonest and a fool.
People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord.
-Proverbs 19:1,3

"Laugh at yourself and at life. Not in the spirit of derision or whining self-pity, but as a remedy, a miracle drug, that will ease your pain, cure your depression, and help you to put in perspective that seemingly terrible defeat and worry with laughter at your predicaments, thus freeing your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come."
-Og Mandino

Warm-up - starts as a group promptly at scheduled times listed above.

Today's WOD (Week 1 - Strength cycle)

Press 5-5-5-5-5

Rx= Strict, Overhead press

Strict - knees and hips locked - not a push press or push jerk (not even a slight dip to generate power.)

To make sure that everyone understands the rep cycle. If we are doing a set of 5 and working up to a 5 RM (your last / heaviest set) and you complete 4 consecutive reps but can't complete the last rep without resting...you can't complete one more rep and call it a legit set of 5 - it was a set of 4. So your last set that you completed all 5 reps would be the weight that you post unless you make another attempt and complete all of the reps. The same goes if you do a "push press" to get rep number 5 up that means that you completed a set of 4 legit strict press. I just wanted to clarify this so that everyone is working on the same format.

Are you still in a rut? Are you afraid to get out of it simply because you have been there so long and you are comfortable in it? Be a little daring today.

"I have often been afraid, but I would not give in to it. I made myself act as though I was not afraid and gradually my fear disappeared."
-Theodore Roosevelt
